Urban Terms 

White Flight-an occurrence in which many white people move out of a city as more and more people of other races move in

Spraw -Development of new housing sites at relatively low density and at locations that are not contiguous to the existing built-up area.

Bedroom Comunities-a residential district located on the outskirts of a city

Zoning-dividing an area into zones or sections reserved for different purposes such as residence and business and manufacturing

Reviltation- to make a new organization or planning to the community to mak eit better or to gain something from it

Nimby- (not in my backyard)  used to express opposition by  local citizens to the locating in their neighborhood of a civic project

Gentrification- process of converting an urban neighborhood from a predominantly low-income renter-occupied area to a predominantly middle-class owner-occupied area

Anchor-a  store or supermarket, that is located in a shopping mall to attract customers who are then expected to go to the other shops in the mall.
